England legacy gift boxes

In the build up to EURO 2024, we were pleased to see the legacy gift boxes we worked on at TwelfthMan handed to the England squad by Prince William.

TwelfthMan were asked to support on the creation of a legacy gift for the England Men’s Senior Team as they departed for the Tournament. This was an opportunity to create a lasting memento for all members of the team, with each box containing the player’s shirt.

The design

Taking inspiration from the recent kit launch and influences from the visual language of our project at the EURO 2024 Basecamp hotel, the initial designs for the exterior of the box encompassed core England graphics, graffiti-style patterns and the colours from the new kit.

With the idea of legacy being at the forefront of this project, it was important the interior of the box illustrated the rich history of the numbers the new squad are about to inherit. The TwelfthMan team, therefore, created an insert which captured all previous players who had worn the number, demonstrating how this honour is only bestowed on a select few. To ensure the interior was in keeping with the aesthetic of the outer box and overall vintage style, we applied a stylised halftone on the images to illustrate the historical aspect of the piece.

The production

Working closely with our print supplier Pure Print, 26 boxes were produced and delivered to St Georges Park for the departure event in which Prince William handed out the precious cargo.

We’re wishing the team the best of luck!
